Spring Time in rural areas is usually taken for granted, especially for Road trippers. A brother and sister are just doing their usual Road Game of making words out of License Plates along the road that spans anchors. They’re pretty preoccupied until a rusted ’41 Chevy CEO Truck comes up on them like a raging bull. The younger brother has a time letting it pass but when it does all they see are tinted windows and a strange license plate with the name BEANTGU. Derry comes to the conclusion it means “Beating You” as there isn’t a number in-between the words like most license plates. They think it strange but keep going. They see the same truck parked outside an old abandoned church the driver stuffing several wrapped things in stained sheets and tie with ropes down the pipe. The odd character is in an old long coat and hat, He also seems to have seen them looking.  Trish and Derry had a choice of keeping the way they were going and not minding this strange act and being total A Holes or stick their necks out looking at what’s going on and potentially crossing a serial killer. In a Role Reversal, Derry decides to pull over and look while his sister strongly disagrees just wanting to reach their parents’ house. She ends up helping Derry into the storm pipe dude to his persuasive concern. A memory of a missing couple from his school possibly goading them on.

Derry in a way takes on the role of Alice as he goes down the Rabbit Hole of Hell. He walks into a tanneries workshop with multiple bodies about the floor and much to his horror, the entire room is full of preserved victims including the missing couple for two or so years ago sewn together. The guy he was looking for and hoping was alright ends up dying from possible loss of blood and trauma to spite being stitched back up again at the chest. It’s clear the old church is  a possible relative of Leather Face or the like and they have to report this as soon as possible. Derry goes into walking shock able to find a way out. Trish is outside and Sees the Truck again then decided she should just up and leave her brother. Leave her brother after he specifically told her If she saw the truck again to yell down the pipe loud as she could to warn him. Even siblings can go chicken on each other. During this a murder of crows is huddling at the sight as if of a bad Omen. This strange bird behavior continues as Darry and Trish manage to speed to a Diner and use the phone as their mobile phones do not seem to work. Darry is still shell shocked but snapes out of it when a strange woman actually calls the dinner trying to help them though they don’t know who the Sam Hell she is or why she knows their names and Where Derry’s Rose Tattoo is. She continues saying if they hear an old Song called Jeepers Creepers to run because “it means something awful for you”.

The police are called though they take their sweet time getting there then treat Derry as if he’s on Cloud 9. It does seem a rather farfetched story especially the bit about the missing prom King and Queen being preserved and sewn together again. The male cop honestly looks like a Rent-A-Cop. His partner seems to have more sense. There’s nothing like being called out on using drugs or being drunk then getting told your car got broke into by the same weirdo you saw doing the horrible acts being seen sniffing your launder for some reason you’re traveling with for over one hundred miles.

Trish and Derry decide to venture out further for a phone while they could have very well gone back to the dinner with the stranger being ran over but good old adrenaline says keep trucking where you’re pointed. One of the things the lady on the phone asked Derry was if they've seen the cats yet. This isn't at all clear until the run into a rugged crazy cat lady hauling a rifle bigger than her who happens to have at least ten or so cats give or take. The Creeper finds them some how getting to the house in as fast a time as it took them to drive. They guy shouldn’t be standing after getting ran over with Trish's car but is agile enough to dodge the old lady’s shrapnel  and crash inside her house. She chews them out for bringing something stranger with them she fears will eat her precious babies. Apparently Creeper either doesn’t like cats or is just too focused on the brother and sister to care. Needless to say the cat lady was bagged but left alone otherwise.

The two now have a Sociopath and a Creeper now tracking them, Derry and Trish really need the authorities to be on their side and conduct Fallow the Leader back to the place. Things get Freakier when the police are attacked in their very car by the perp that somehow manages to hammer through the roof and attack the rent-a-cop with a huge ax. Without the police to protect them the two come face to face with something that’s more than a man and he wants them next. Trish manages to hit him with her car and run him over a few times making him street pizza. Derry stops her from running him over for the up tenth time feeling the guy has to be dead right? The stranger had something extra in his coat that resembled a giant bat wing. This clearly rules out him being a normal human but maybe he’ll stay down.

How did he get over where they were so fast on foot if he left the Chevy at the dinner? How can he possibly get up after being ran over by such a solid car? We already saw he had wings under that coat as far fetched as it seems something must have made him better enough after Trish ran him over at least five times leaving the house to continue chasing them all the way to the next Police Station.

Again the same treatment once Derry tells his story at the station. The physic finds them. While being at a police station seems the best place to be in any case, she strongly advises them to leave because the Creeper will find them there and take Derry for what he saw. A power outage soon fallows and a chill in the air telling the Creeper is near. Police being Police go to investigate and check on the people already in the holding cells.

Indeed the Creeper is there and is helping himself to an inmate. His clothes are shed and we get a full view of his skin and wings that ironically fold neatly on his back. Why take off the people guise? Perhaps having his true nature found out he figures screw it and will ease movement. Creeps takes out nearly half the policemen and even pounces the physic and by passes the unsaid scenario of letting the black lady live.

Creeper corners Trish and Derry and snatches Derry like the physic said however Trish pleads for her brother to spite having nearly left him in the pipe with dead bodies before she pleads face to face with a true monster. Creeper doesn’t like being backed into the corner though immune to bullets. He genuinely looks to consider what she’s saying but the police wont back off and he takes Derry through the window not to be seen again. Perhaps if the police had backed off he would have let Derry go but Derry had seen too much and there was something about the kid he found particularly interesting.

When humans become scared a pheromones released  that can be smelt by sensitive noses like the Creepers. Creepers been terrifying Derry and Trish for a near full twelve house and like a blood hound he fallowed their smell. The Physic some how knew this was how the Creeper chose his victims and want he wanted from them.  Although both Trish and Derry found out what was going on, only Derry went through the pipe and saw more. The creature took Derry’s eyes after taking him back to the layer, just his eyes. In the background an old phonograph played Jeepers Creepers.

As far as Creature Features go it could be a take it or leave it film. I give high marks for Originality as well as Creativity to Producer and Effects people. All characters are on a pretty Human Connective level. Yes even the police though as knuckle headed as they can seem at times. They can’t protect you from a giant bat creature that awakes every twenty third Spring that can’t be hit by bullets. Any rusty looking 41 Chevy COE will give you the creeps and Scarecrows maybe the Creeper holding still in the dark watching you. A span of lonely road out in the country maybe the deadliest place to be. Any abandoned church isn’t a safe one especially with Crows hanging around.

Truly authentic Physics are underrated and I view it as unfair as there isn’t any damn off switch to the ability and it very well can put you into an insane asylum from the Visions however they come across. Add in how most people won’t listen to you until it’s too late and you not only have the short end of a Wishbone but also a guilt complex. Ms. Hart was trying to be helpful to Derry and Trish unfortunately she may have his death added to her guilt of those she couldn’t help in time.

Derry and Trishes role reversal is interesting as typically it’s the guy saying to just blow it off or let’s investigate because it may be interesting. Perhaps it’s because Trish is older and they hadn’t seen their parents in a while she makes the decision of just leaving things as they are but has to go after her younger brother. Derry becomes so shell shocked because frankly he was just expecting to see the one person put down the pipe and not a horrific Tannery of Human Corpses in a Sixteenth Chapel Design. He’s young and seeing people your age like that would really scare anyone dumb for a while. The question of his T-Shirt and Rose tattoo has a few avenues everyone’s welcome to take. I’m not formilure with out of state Logos it maybe an Athlete, Artist, exec it looks old but it could be Retro Old. That trend was starting to get big in 2001. Where the rose tattoo is and is located, I don’t want to conclusion jump too quick. It could be for a girlfriend or remembrance of the youths that died in a car crash. Films like touching on sexual orientation and suggestiveness and Horror can be notorious for this. Whatever Derry is in this departments is good for him. Frankly I don’t think Creeper cares either.

The Creepers design leaves much to be speculated about what He or It is. He wears cloths and crazily drives a truck to blend in and terrorize people. He’s intelligent enough to understand speech, use tools and even hide his victims for later. Preserving said victims in a morbid state suggests He relishes the suffering of others and likes having moments for later. His eating of specific organs could be symbolic too as eyes are not only for sight but said to be the Window to the Soul. Reflecting Innocence, Youth EC. He hunts and takes Derry’s eyes possibly for this reason. Think really hard on the License plate of his truck. No letters just BEATNGU Sadly Derry was wrong again. The Creeper will “Be Eating You” if you come His way

Creature Feature of the Acers

An Unsolved Mystery

Jeepers Creepers may have been roughly based off an unsolved murder mystery dating back to April 10 in 1991. The witnesses was a married couple that played the same license plat game as Trish and Darry. They followed a man acting strangely on the road driving a travel van. Like the creeper the man was driving at high speeds and eventually went around them in a serious hurry.  Like in Jeepers Creepers they saw the man stuff something into a pipe that was a blood stained sheet but without a body. They reported this to the police a warrant went out for the man but isn't know to have been caught and tried. He may have murdered more than one person.
